I contributed to a thread and expressing my disagreement over something which happened to be what a member of staff said.

The issue under discussion is totally unimportant in this context.

The member of staff comes back with a reply ending with.... ".....oesn't mean you're right with your 'logic'. It is how it is. :)

I don't like how this thread's going so I'm going to close it."

How arrogant to abuse your power to close down a discussion when you disagree with something on it. The quick closure with the comment "I don't like the way this thread's going" smacks of the kind of authoritarian suppression of opinions that dogged Eastern Europe for half a century. There was no abuse, no flaming and nothing personal, just honest relevant opinions from all. Presumably this was done to prevent others posting disagreement of your opinion too.

The thread in question:-

See invisible users and message them

Will this thread will get the same treatment?

Hello,

I recently got an add request on MSN Messenger that was from a (What I assume was a spam e-mail and add) and ever since then, my display name will not save. (I didn't accept the add, by the way. I hit block and not show on contact list) It reverts to my e-mail address where the name will be: Example "JohnDoe@email.com says..." instead of "John Doe says...." I have went in and changed my display name and hit just "okay" and it worked. Then I signed back on (and every since then, it reverts back to e-mail every time) and it went back to e-mail address for name. So I changed it again, and changed another setting, and hit "Apply" and then "Okay" I signed back out and on and it's back at e-mail as name again. Also, ever since it happened, some of my contact list has their display names as e-mails as well, then some have the names they chose.

Any idea why my name isn't saving? It only started since the spam e-mail add.

In the window that opens, choose either webcam picture or dynamic picture. Both enable you to either snap a picture of yourself (and your loved one if you prefer) or record a short 4-second video. The dynamic display picture on the other hand, allows you to record four other pictures of yourself, coupled to these emoticons: smile, wink, cool, and sad.

Click Done, close the window and you should see your live picture appearing. That's all there is to it. Have fun!

So I saw this movie yesterday at the theater. I must say the storyline itself with the family it follows is pretty impossible. Not to ruin the movie for anyone but come on.... driving a limo under a falling bridge, managing to escape from falling into the opening earth as everyone else, and so forth is not very believable. Although I understand without this they'd have no storyline to follow as well that would keep us watching.

Other than that must say I'm disappointed to know that I'm not on the "want to keep alive list" (ie: scientist or any other important person) and I don't have 1 billion euro that would guarantee me a slot of survival so throughout the movie I was thinking if this really happened - I'm doomed!

It's not a bad movie though and that's all I'll say for now.

I'm using Yahoo Messenger for Mac version 3.0 beta and recently my display images have stopped displaying when logged in or when I open a chat window. When not logged in and I am selecting a user the display images show, but they go out as soon as I login to any name. When I go to the window to set my browser image, the image field displays blank even after I try reloading the image. I have trashed my Preferences and that doesn't work. Contacting Yahoo for any problem is absolutely worthless as all you get are automated replies that never pertain to the issue you are writing about, so I was hoping to find some help here from other users. Thanks very much!

In WLM there's a button for checking how many new incoming mails you have. Since recently after I click on it, it opens login page on brasilian or portuguese language (I am not sure about language but br.msn.com is in address)
I tried to change language settings for mail and Live page but it doesn't help, everytime clicking on this button opens brasilian page.
It's not so cosy so I am asking for your ideas
Thanks in advance !
