That is strange...Facebook doesn't slow down my system. But as I mentioned in another thread, scan your computer first. What antivirus are you using, and do you keep it updated?

CCleaner is a program I use for cleaning out my browser's cache, cookies, junk files, etc. Install the slim version, which comes without one of those dreaded toolbars.

Let me know how it goes, and best of luck.

Facebook is flaky sometimes but check your browser to see if you have any toolbar installed by your anti-virus program. If you do - remove it and see if that helps.

Well I don't have anti spy stuff on my toolbar...I do run my CCleaner once a week...and I'm a real freako when it comes to keeping my system clean n free of anything. I'll try getting on it after my initial clean tomorrow...I clean system on Sunday thoroughly.

Remember that Facebook is just a page displaying in your browser. It isn't "running" on your machine. Any slowness you are seeing is a result of the page load from the Facebook servers or your browser.

I have seen where having multiple start pages, search pages, etc. saved in your browser (which you can't always easily detect and are not going to be cleaned out with routing cleaning) will slow you down significantly with regard to browsing in general. Older versions of Google Toolbar will keep pages from loading well too.

There are any number of ways to improve browser performance. If you have an alternate browser like Firefox you could try it and you may find Facebook will load better and work better in general.

are you running any other internet using applications in the background? or even any high memory applications?

(A good way to check is to open your task manager, ctrl+alt+del then task manager, then go to the processes tab, click the memory colomn and you could let us know which are the top 5 processes running?)

    Are you maybe
    Downloading using bit-torrent/limewire etc?
    or
    Pre-loading/watching a online video?

These could all affect other sites you are visiting
Hey there Delilah, what's it like in New York City? I'm a thousand miles away but girl, tonight you look so pretty, yes you do!
Time Square can't shine as bright as you...
