Popular Chat Service Surpasses 500,000 Users

LAS VEGAS, NV--(INTERNET WIRE)--Nov 12, 2001-- Comdex Fall, Booth #L4813 -- Eyeball Networks, a leader in video communications software infrastructure, today released Eyeball Chat(TM) 2.0 - the first video instant messenger to support multiple instant messengers and video messaging. Eyeball Chat 2.0 extends on the popularity of its previous versions with a set of features not available in any other program:

  • Instant Messaging interoperability with AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), MSN Messenger, and Yahoo! Messenger, using one client and contact list

  • Video Messaging to enable recording, sending, and playback of video messages

  • File Transfer capabilities to send pictures, documents, and music files to colleagues

  • Interactive Chat Rooms within the client so users can meet new people online through text and face-to-face contact

  • Advanced Security through SSL message encryption

Previous versions of Eyeball Chat have achieved a leadership position, surpassing 500,000 unique users, due to its ease of use, reliability, and guaranteed best possible video quality based on its Any-Bandwidth(TM) Technology.

"With this new set of features, Eyeball Chat 2.0 is the most comprehensive communications service available on the Internet. While other services offer some integrated functionality, Eyeball Chat 2.0 will be the only one to integrate video communications and video messaging with IM interoperability in one program," said Chris Piche, Chairman & CEO of Eyeball Networks.

With the growth of instant messaging, home and business Internet users communicating with their friends, family, and colleagues, have had to create accounts on multiple programs. With the release of Eyeball Chat 2.0, people can now talk to all of their online friends no matter which program theyŒre using, and engage in face-to-face communication.

"Previously, instant messaging was limited to text and voice chat within the same providerŒs network. Now with Eyeball Chat 2.0, people have more flexibility and power to chose how they want to communicate with their online contacts - through text, voice or video," said Piche.

Eyeball Chat 2.0 is now available as a free download from www.eyeballchat.com.
