Jabber Announces SEC Compliant Archiving for Instant Messaging

New Release of Jabber Communications Platform and Partnership with Redmind Deliver SEC Compliant Archiving Tools and Application
DENVER, CO ¨C January 31, 2002 - Jabber, Inc. a leading developer of software for extensible instant messaging (IM), whose investors include Webb Interactive Services, Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBB) and France Telecom (NYSE: FTE), today announced Jabber Communications Platform Version 1.2., which centrally logs all Instant Messaging traffic for organizations requiring a server-side record of all user conversations.

Built around the XML-based Jabber open protocol, Jabber Communications Platform (JCP) delivers an engine on which service providers, enterprises, and software developers create custom messaging, VoIP and other collaborative solutions.
With this latest version, financial service companies and other enterprise customers can now capture messages exchanged across the network between employees and customers. The captured data can be used for logging full records of all IM traffic to deliver SEC compliant archiving, or for general administrative and diagnostic purposes. Companies have the option of building their own archiving applications using Jabber XML output, or working with Jabber partners to customize an archiving application specific to their needs.

Jabber also announced a partnership with Redmind, Inc. to integrate the Redmind Genius Archive application with JCP, providing a full-featured SEC/NASD compliant archive, search and retrieval capability based on the data output of the Jabber server. Genius Archive is a leading financial data retrieval package, incorporating natural language processing technology to enable administrators to locate specific conversation topics based on Jabber IM output.
