Odigo Demonstrates Interoperable Mobile Instant Messaging

OdigoKensington, U.K. ¨C February 13, 2002 - Odigo Inc., the leading provider of Instant Messaging and Presence Solutions to wireless carriers and service providers worldwide, today demonstrated interoperable Mobile Instant Messaging and Presence Services, utilizing the protocol developed by Wireless Village, at the Wireless Village 1.0 Launch Event here in the Millennium Gloucester Hotel.



The Wireless Village initiative, sponsored by Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia, was established in April 2001 to accelerate the market¡¯s vision of ubiquitous instant messaging and presence services from any mobile device to any other networked device. The initiative has yielded an open and common specification that enables interoperability between systems regardless of platform or manufacturer, while addressing, and overcoming, the demanding requirements of wireless communication.

"The new generation of mobile handsets will be equipped with built-in, completely interoperable IM and Presence capabilities.
