CNET's
Download.com opened it's doors back in 1996 and just announced the
top 10 downloads of the past (almost) 10 years. At the top of the list? The venerable
ICQ, with over 255 MILLION downloads. ICQ has an advantage in that it's been around for a long time -- it's been listed on Download.com since 1997 -- but it remains today one of their most popular downloads.
Newcomer
Skype comes in at number 8 with nearly 1.3 million downloads. Pretty significant considering that it's still relatively new, and a testament to the power of free, high-quality Internet calls.
