Trillian Astra - Another Screen

On the Cerulean Studios developer's blog they have posted a screenshot of the forthcoming Trillian Astra

So far, it looks similar to Trillian 3, but with contacts displayed in icon view and the addition of a contact list search function.

Assuming they retain the existing skinning technique, it shouldn't be difficult for skinners to modify their Trillian 3 skins to work with Trillian Astra.

There is a mysterious new blue-green online status orb, but no clues as to what service it represents.

Personally, what I've seen so far is disappointing. Previous versions of Trillian were substantial upgrades, and so far we're only seeing minor tweaks.

Hopefully the Cerulean Studios crew still has a few tricks up their sleeves...

I like it so far, for sure they'll release some other stuff. ;)

I think it looks worse. Personally, I like my buddy list small yet organized. I have way too many contacts to arrrange them in such a fashion.

And on top of that, it still looks like Trilly 3! I would expect something much better, possibly a glassy effect, something a little more up-to-date than their ancient "Whistler" skin.
