eMessenger becomes eBuddy
Web-based IM eMessenger has been rebranded as eBuddy. According to Michael Arrington at TechCrunch, the popular Europe-based eBuddy has secured a round of VC funding from a top-tier company, putting it in a good position to do battle with US-based Meebo.
Both eBuddy and Meebo support AIM, MSN/WLM, Yahoo and ICQ instant messaging. Meebo adds support for Jabber clients (including Google Talk), while eMessenger offers support for mobile phones. Both are great solutions for a no-install, browser-based IM client -- useful in the office or at the internet cafe. |

eBuddy is a great solution!
If I am at work I can still access my contacts at MSN/Yahoo or AOL. Very helpful! What I like about eBuddy is that is feels the most like the common MSN/Yahoo/AOL messengers. The user interface is intuitive. The tab mode keeps all conversations on 1 window. Nice if you have multiple windows open for work.
I also think they have improved in speed. Does anybody know if they have installed servers in the US? Tried their Mobile Messenger the other day. Works pretty good! I like the way you only see an ! behind your contact when you receive a message. I was afraid to hear beeps or something.. |
