OctroW is on a distinguished road (10)
Octro has released OctroTalk for Symbian S60 3rd Edition phones. It is a Symbian signed application. It has full VOIP and peer-to-peer file transfer. VOIP in OctroTalk uses a low bandwidth codec, and can be with GPRS/EDGE networks.

OctroTalk 2.0 is a major release. It has has real time Mobile Video Conferencing and video streaming. Currently the front camera support is for Samsung Blackjack, and not for HTC phones (HTC hasn't opened up their API).

OctroTalk is now $29.95

OctroTalk for Nokia S60 3rd (Symbian), Window Mobile Smartphone and Pocket PC is now $29.95. This is one time cost for a single user. During the first year you can transfer license to up to 5 devices. So after a Free trial period of 15-days, the license will expire.

OctroTalk for desktop will continue to be free for now.

Octra is not bad. Currently iam using Voip Sip SDK - The easiest way to add dial and receive phone calls features to your applications. Soft phone sdk to make your soft developing easier! SIP activeX for my softphone, its worth it.

I use OctroTalk recently, and I like it. It is compatible with Google Talk (Jabber), MSN, AIM, ICQ and Yahoo chat protocols. It is cross platform – running on Symbian 3rd Edition, Windows Mobile and WM Smartphone as well as the Desktop version of Windows. It also has a useful file sharing side – you can use it to access shared folders on PCs running the Windows client and there is some kind of P2P file sharing built in to boot. The downside is… well, it’s yet another IM/VOIP app. Fring is probably a better bet for most users, particularly if you need Skype access for your Wireless Voip Business Mobile Phones.
