Goggledom is going to have to give me cross connectivity, similar to Trillian, before I agree to an all out change. But I will try it out in the meantime.

One more IM application ..it would have it's followers too.
I don't think anything can phase out the existing applications. However since it is integrated to gmail and I use it a lot, I would be using google talk
But I will still have my Yahoo and MSN running too at the same time.

Again, as others have said, Google isn't going to give me any joy unless other people use it too! Sure, it looks cool, but in effect most IMprograms are essentially the same--usually the one you use is the one that you know people are using. I personally use AIM because everyone in my town uses it; I'm also forced to use MSN since I know people that live 50 miles away that all use MSN. It would be an interesting experiment to see who could get everyone to switch to google..but it's not going to happen.

Also, just a note, I was cemented into using AIM in about 7th grade, because I logged on and there were already many people I knew using it. Hard to say if Google talk can ever reach this kind of status, anywhere. If it connects to AIM/MSN/Y!, it might work someday.

I've been using Google Talk for a couple of hours now... and i'm not going to switch completely. I like it a lot but I have too many contacts are on MSN to completely abandon it and only a few will bother switching. I'll probably use both messengers together. It's certainly worth trying, just because it's Google.

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

As long as all my other friends use it and until I get internet at home again I'll definitely like to use it! This is the best thing since sliced bread and deodorant!

Hmm now that sounds like a nice little feature they should add on later. I would definately use that if they implemented it. Another thing, though, they should make it optional so it doesn't take up space if people don't want it there.

I know that Google Talk is almost supported in IM+ Mobile Messenger together with other IMs. I have already tried beta version and GT contacts are just added to my MSN and AIM contact list. I will continue using all services since I can easily do it from one client.

Actually, I don`t agree with LinuxAddict. I hate it that Y! added their search in almost every window the messenger has.
Anyway.. just as a fact, I made a skin for Yahoo! Messy to look just like Google Talk!
You can find it`s topic in the Yahoo! Skins forum (here) or for free download at my site: luktechnology.ro
