Curious about Mac support for voice chat on Gtalk

I'm not sure when / if a mac version of gtalk will come out, or even if
it's necessary..
ichat and adium both allow me to connect to gtalk from my ibook, and so
does the web based chat feature built right into gmail's web interface,
but as best I can tell, none of these allow me to voice chat from my
mac with somebody over gtalk.

I thought this jingle software
http://googletalk.blogspot.com/2006/...ingle-030.html
was supposed to allow other software programs to include that voip
functionality as well. Anybody know if ichat or adium will be using
that jingle software in upcoming versions to enable voip through gtalk?

I just heard this crazy news about everybody on AIM getting an aim
phone number so people could call straight to your computer..
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB114684115623644893.html?mod=googlenew...

That, and they want to give myspace a run for their advertising money.
things are getting interesting in VOIP lands.. As if skype needed more
competition... how much cheaper can phone calling get?

Hi there Hupjack.
I haven't noticed you here before, but then, BBB is such a vast place... ;-)

I've no idea about GTalk, but just wonder have you tried www.ivisit.com - that works well for Mac and PC to voice/video together.

VERY interesting Wall St Journal article about AIM-Phone - thanks for posting that link.
But I think both Skype and YahooMessenger have the "SkpeIn/PhoneIn" system already working, so AOL is really just catching up, I guess. And $15/month sounds steep maybe, but of course depends exactly what that covers.
Indeed fascoinating times for VOIP.

Send a message via AIM to rascat
Gooogle talk's website states that you must use google talk to voice chat. It had (has?) a nice table of which features are supported by the more popular third party programs (and whether or not they are available for macs), but I was unable to find it just now. If you find a solution I would love to know about it, I'm on a PC but a few of my friends are on macs.
