ICQ 4.0 is kind of buggy! Have any of you tried the Ztraz Center, if so, does it contain spywares just like ah, what is that thing that is bundled with AIM?
"If we always look back, we lose sight of what's ahead."
Brian so far no spywares found .. if I found any ill post it ASAP
They closed the beta -- you cannot download it from their site anymore. Anyone have a copy?

But it says the Beta is over if you try to install it.
yeah they said it, you wont be able to install anymore until the full version is released. it was just a limmited beta. btw you can download any if not all versions of icq from icq-4u.com
We at ICQ-4U.com have devised a method for installing ICQ Lite 4.0 build 1613 after the expiration date. It simply requires adding a line to your HOSTS file so that the client will check with the specified server for permission to install. If you are unfamiliar with editing your hosts file, follow these steps:
Start > Run
Type,
notepad "c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"
add the line,
80.190.244.8 cb.icq.com
at the very bottom. Save and exit the file.
Then try to install the client. The client will try to connect to cb.icq.com for permission to install itself. The line in the HOSTS file redirects requests for cb.icq.com to 80.190.244.8, which is the server for ICQ-4u.com. The administrator of icq-4u.com has set up a file that simply responds "yes" to any request, and your client will think this is coming from icq.com and will go ahead with installation.
The line in the HOSTS file can be removed immediately following the appearance of the install dialog so you know your details aren't being sent to ICQ-4u.com.
A write-up of this method is on our website, http://www.icq-4u.com/
