I don't work, but my dad works for Lucent, and he's allowed to use MSN under Windows Messenger, problem is they've got security so tight over there they don't allow for the adding of external screen names, the contact's name has to end in '@lucent.com'.

Spike thats like the solution I'm looking for. We need to start locking people down, the boss doesn;t mind folks using IM for business purposes but it is now getting abused.

We're pretty much unrestricted ATM, but I imagine that somewhere down the road we'll be switched to the built in messenger in Lotus Notes.

I personally prefer Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger.

Public IMs are forbidden at our office.
Our IT administrator has installed messenger for LAN from Softros company
Internet messengers are dangerous for business communications as I know. A lot of worms, viruses can hurt office' PCs.

Still using Sametime at work. And now that I have a MacBook at home, I can use the Sametime connectivity in Adium. Works like a charm!

We are using our main product OnLAN Messenger to communicate with each other (we are selling it and using it ourselves).

We use Brosix... but then I work for Brosix so that is no surprise. On previous jobs we have generally been email reliant or we just used AIM - which never made any sense since my previous political work was so prone to leaks/spying, etc.
