I got suspended for using netstat!

Well, you have to see it from their point of view, you are using THEIR PC's on THEIR network and they have invested lots of money (though in some schools it does not seem like it) on all of that. They have the right to dictate how it's used, especially if they have people who don't know what they are doing, the less others are able to do on the PC's the less vulnerable they are to ANY attack. Also, just because one person finishes their lesson FIRST and THEN plays does not mean that Joe Schmoe down the line of PC's is not wasting time with solitaire instead of playing...it's those people that ruin it for all...but that's they way things go. As a teacher there's NOTHING worse than seeing a student either not finishing their assignment and doing something else OR doing another assignment during class...so they less chance for that the better...hence no extra programs on school PC's. Though, I have to add that getting suspended for solitaire seems a bit lame. (that's putting it lightly)
