Almost Kicked

I'm currently at a tertiary institute and use msn messenger quite a lot. I was confronted by a few lecturers today and told that I should stay off msn or they'll kick me out of class. I thought that was a bit rude considering they set up chatrooms for students to go into yet don't let us chat on msn. Im not quite riguring out the difference between the two >_<"

Well, yes. But it's their network, their rules. If you want to use their services, you should also follow their rules - even if you don't like or don't agree with them.

what kind of chatrooms?? if they're setting up these chatrooms, i would assume they have some sort of educational purpose?? as opposed to msn, which is mostly entertainment...

but yes its their network, their rules.

As I was going down the stair, I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today; I wish I wish he'd go away.

there isn't a rule saying we're not allowed to use IM in class.
our lectures arn't like other places. We sit in a room of computers and chat to each other verbally and if we need a question answerd then we just ask the lecturer. I only have 1 offcial lecture a week where i have to sit down with my pen and paper.

Also, these chatrooms are made for socializing -_-
There are other chatrooms for online classes and asking of questions aswell though.
