Anyways, I'm increasing how much I'm IMing more and more people nowadays. I have open around 5 IRC chatrooms with Trilly (most of them are empty) and I'm rarely not talking to anybody from School. So I'd say 2-4 not including the chatrooms.

Well...usually 2-4, sometimes just one, and rarely more than 4, it gets too confusing and I end up saying something to the wrong person.

But yes, usually I have about 8-10+ going at once across 4 messengers. You see why I dig trillian now? Honestly, I'd be going out of my mind without it. Whoever thought of the tabbed windows...I want to have their babies. *laughs*

I selected 2-4.. but I don't know how accurate that is. A lot of times I'll have 6 windows open, but I'm really only talking to one person at a time, and the rest are idle for the moment. I try to keep the number of in-depth conversations pretty low though, just because I like to do more than IM while I'm on the computer.

i'm in the same boat as Dave with this one... I generally have a few different conversations going, but usually there's really only maybe two that are active. the others are fairly silent most of the time.

and I agree with Sami, tabbed windows are great. I remember back a few years when I first got into IMing and didn't have tabbed windows yet (i barely knew what AIM was, much less DeadAIM, or my current Trillian)... my screen was a mess.

If I'm at work, I'm usually talking to about 2-3 people. But other times, or if my coworkers don't have any questions for me, then it's usually only one person.
