What are the [Postcards] and [Hometown] all about?
The tags [Postcard] and [Hometown] are left exclusively for a new brand of introduction for our members. Articles written by members for members. What are [Postcard]s? [Postcard]s are for our travelling members who go out and see this big blue ball (hah). Posted in the Introduction forum after vacations, trips or just visiting a new town for the heck of it, this can give us a more in depth peek into not only the world around us, but also each one of you and your misadventures. Inside each of these posts may include things such as pictures, quotes, links to other sites, blog entries, google map coordinates, Flikr Photo Pool, and plenty of information ranging from your personal views, to history to just whatever it is you did! These should be indicated in the topic as so: [Postcard] City, State/Province, Country. What are [Hometown]s? [Hometown] is for everyone who possibly feels the need to tell us a little bit more about the place they call home. Posted in the Introduction forum as well, these can be a great tool in helping each of us learn a little something more about you. Even people who live in the same city may have a very different view, so feel free to pipe up and add your voice even if your home has been posted already. Inside each of these posts may inclide things such as pictures, other sites, official city facts, what you do for fun, and just about anything else you can possibly think of. These should be indicated in the topic as so: [Hometown] City, State/Province, Country. How do I add Pictures? Generally, you would go to your "Attach Files" Section below your text box, upload your pictures with the "Manage Attachements" button. Be sure to take note of the picture restraints listed in the Attachement Key, upload up to five pictures. To put these pictures into your posts, click on the link to the picture to open it up. Note the attachement id (IE http://www.bigblueball.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=578&stc=1&d=1138413030 Would be 578) and use this tag [attach=center]ID Number[/attach], in this case [attach=center]578[attach] or [attach]578[attach] Other Suggestions It is suggested to keep your [Postcard] or [Hometown] looking neat and readable, please keep in mind the Posting Guidelines. You may also want to keep in mind that you may use numbered (  ) and bulleted ( ) lists to separate your factoids.
