iPhone 2.0 Roadmap

Here are the videos of the iPhone 2.0 Roadmap event. It's broken into several segments because YouTube's limits.

This first segment deals largely with the Microsoft Exchange integration (important to corporations, and scary to RIM).

Part 3 digs into the SDK and the ability for other companies to create applications for the iPhone.

Part 4 introduces the Cocoa interface builder...

Part 5... demoing some sample apps, including a 3D shooter game using OpenGL graphics and the built-in accelerometer for "steering." Very cool!

Part 6 goes over a thrilling sales application (yawn)....

Part 7 shows Sega's Super Monkey Ball on the iPhone. To move the ball, you just move the iPhone around. REALLY cool!

Part 8 -- the final words. Introduces the SDK. You can download it for free to run on your Mac, or pay $99 to join the developer program and test things on your iPhone.

Great post, Yahooligan! Thanks for collecting these videos.

It is really interesting to see where the iPhone goes.

I read this article on MSNBC today about how game developers are looking at the iPhone, not as a mobile phone that can play games, but as a full-fledged PC in your hand.

When is the ETA for this? I'm thinking about switching to ATT.

The SDK is already available for developers to download and test on an iPhone, but the iPhone 2.0 update won't be available to customers until sometime in June 2008.

I'm really looking forward to it, although I've heard rumors that third-party apps won't be allowed to run in the background, which seriously sucks, especially for stuff like IM.
