How do I enjoy your itunes music on zune?

I got a new Zune music player from my boyfriend for Valentine's Day, and I really like it. However, I have a lot of songs in my iTunes library which I still want to listen to on my Zune. Here comes the problem. The music files I bought from iTunes are DRM protected, so I just can’t transfer them to Zune software or play them on my Zune player. It makes me rather headache.

So, I tried many times and found several different ways for removing DRM and transferring my music to new music player.

Part 1: How to remove DRM protection from your music?

Here are the methods listed below:

1. CD burning and ripping

First, insert a CD-R or CD-RW disc into your drive, and burn your playlist onto the CD. Then have the Zune Music Player or other media player import the songs off the CD and save them in MP3 format. When the music is imported off the CD, they are no longer DRM protected.

It is the most commonly known method. But it is costly (waste CDs) and time consuming, especially when you have a lot of music.

2.Using conversion software

You just need to download the software, add DRM protected music to it, and choose output format. After that, the only thing you need to operate is just click the start button, and the converting process is starting. After converting, the files are DRM-ripped. These software are especially useful for alleviating compatibility issues.

As far as I know, wondershare music converter is one kind of this. After giving a test for some free trials I found it is a good converter with high output quality, professional, and easy of use.

Part 2: How to trasfer converted music to Zune?

After conversion finished, now we can import them to Zune music player. First, run Zune software, connect your Zune player to computer via USB cable, the Zune software will detect your Zune player. Add the converted mp3 music files to Zune software and click “Start to sync”, then your music will be transferred to Zune.

Ok, these are DRM removal methods and MP3 converters I found, hope it can give you some help when you come across similar problems, so you can enjoying your favorite music freely.

Well, ripping the DRM (the discussion of it) is actually illegal. Some sites which had links to programs and such have gotten cease-and-desist orders from Apple in the past. I don't think it's a good idea to talk about it here. Technical discussion like where to find specific programs is what's illegal in this case (I mean stripping the DRM from the actual M4P files, not burning to a CD and re-ripping it).

I'm personally glad that the majority of the music in the iTunes Store is now DRM-free. If DRM is an issue (or the AAC encoded files the iTunes Store uses) I'd suggest trying out the Amazon MP3 store.
