Fix for Truphone problem and iPhone 3.0 update

Got the following email from Truphone. Apparently there is a bug (supposedly Apple's) that might cause the Truphone icon to disappear after you install the 3.0 OS on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
Hello Truphone User

This email is to inform you of an Apple bug that has affected many applications on the iPhone and iPod Touch, including Truphone, and may have affected you.

If you have upgraded your iPhone or iPod Touch to Apple's OS3.0 software, you may have experienced the following issues:

- The application icon being incorrect (i.e. the application icon showing is from another application)
- The application icon not showing at all

Not everyone will be affected by this bug. If you have not experienced any of these issues, please ignore this email.

Apple have not released a fix for the bugs yet, so if you are experiencing this Apple bug for any application (not just when Truphone is affected), we recommend the following fix:

Step 1 - Go to the Applications section of iTunes on your iPhone/iPod Touch and un-tick the affected application

Step 2 - Sync your iPhone / iPod Touch

Step 3 - Go back into the Applications section of iTunes on your iPhone/iPod Touch and re-tick the relevant application

Step 4 - Sync your iPhone/iPod Touch again

This should resolve this bug, however results are not guaranteed, as this is not an official Apple bug fix.

If you should continue to experience this bug afterwards, please contact our Truphone Support team on 020 7100 6860 (UK), 1 347 694 5000 (US), +44 20 7100 6860 or +1 347 694 5000 (rest of world).

Happy chatting,
The Truphone Team
