MSN Messenger

Microsoft's instant messenger comes in four flavors: MSN Messenger is available for Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP; Windows Messenger is available only for Windows XP; Microsoft Messenger is available for the Mac; and Windows Live Messenger is the newest version, currently still in beta testing for Windows XP and Vista. MSN Messenger has seen the biggest gain in market share of any instant messenger; over 90% in the past year alone. In my opinion, it has the cleanest, friendliest user interface. Very easy on the eyes. Note that Messenger no longer runs on Windows 95. Gaim 1.5.0 [Windows] Gaim is a multi-protocol instant messaging (IM) client for Linux, BSD, MacOS X, and Windows. It is compatible with AIM and ICQ (Oscar protocol), MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, SILC, GroupWise Messenger, and Zephyr networks. Gaim users can log in to multiple accounts on multiple IM networks simultaneously.
