Amy has been a member for a long time here and her help has been appreciated just as long! Whenever she answers a question you know you are getting a good solid answer. So, join me in thanking and congratulating Amy. We appreciate all the help and fun you bring to the forums!
Q. How did you find out about BigBlueBall? What made you stay?
A. I found out about BBB when I started making skins for Yahoo Messenger 6. At the time, I didn't have a webite, so I was looking for somewhere to post them. I stayed because the people are very friendly and helpful, and I've found answers to just about every question I've ever had about IM and computers in general, and it's just a fun place to be.
Q. Why did you choose "amy_d_g" as your username?
A. Ummm ok, so I wasn't very creative at the time...It's my first name and initials. My other username, queeeenofspadez, came from the fact that I play spades (the card game) a LOT, and I'm pretty darn good at it!
Q. How many years have you been using computers?
A. My parents got our first computer in about 1992, all I remember is it was a Mac. I didn't get my first computer until 2003, and that's when I really started using computers a lot.
Q. How long have you been instant messaging?
A. I started using IM regularly in January of 2001, when I met my fiance... that's how we kept in touch when we weren't in school.
Q. What is your favorite instant messenger and why?
A. I use Yahoo, because that's what all of myfriends are on.
Q. What is your favorite BigBlueBall forum section and why?
A. Random Ramblings and What makes you laugh are my two favorites. Seems like I can always find something interesting there when I am bored.
Q. What do you do when you're not online?
A. I have two wonderful little boys, ages 6 and 2, so spending time with them is on the top of my list. I play a lot of video games, and I am also into archery. I shoot a compound bow, mostly at an indoor target
range.
Q. Anything else you would like to add?
A. Just that it's quite an honor to be chosen as MotM on such a great site!
