Awesomesauce (aka Dan) has been a member at BigBlueBall since January 2004, and logged close to 1,000 posts in the past 1-1/2 years. He's finally getting the credit he deserves, as our April Member of the Month!

Here's a little more about Awesomesauce...

How did you find BigBlueBall? What keeps you coming back?

Hmm, I believe I was searching on Google to find out how I could know who blocked me on MSN messenger. I found a BigBlueBall Forum topic from there. That was also at the time I was a newbie to instant messaging, so I decided to become a member, and it always was (and still is) a great place to find answers for my IM questions.

How did you come up with "Awesomesauce" as a username?

Well, I've been a fan of HomestarRunner.com for a while now, and I got the name from Strong Bad email #75, "funny". Lately I've been thinking about changing my Internet identity to something a little less corny, but if I did that now I think it would cause some problems.

How long have you been using computers?

All my life! My first computer was a DOS machine that ran Windows 3.1, and that's what I had for a while until we got a new computer with Windows 98, then Windows XP.

Ok, so how long have you been instant messaging?

Only a few years. When one of my friends introduced it to me, I found it to be a great way to communicate with my friends and relatives.

What's your preferred instant messenger? Why?

When I first started instant messaging, I used MSN messenger simply because that's what everyone else in my school/area used. However, I eventually got an AIM screen name so I could talk to a few of my far-away friends, and also a Yahoo identity and ICQ number. That was sometime last December or January, and since then I stuck with Trillian because it is the best multiple-protocol instant messenger I know.

What's your favorite BigBlueBall section, and why?

I would like to say the Trillian section, but not a lot of people post there. However the Off-Topic section usually has a lot of fun things to see and read about, and that's why it's one of my favorites.

What do you do when you're not online?

Eating, Sleeping, playing video games, hanging with friends, and going on walks or bikerides while listening to music. I try to get outside once in a while to get some fresh air.

Anything else you'd like to add?

I am very surprised... Thank you so much, I plan to stay an active member for all my life. I like BigBlueBall because of all the kind, smart, civilized people that you don't see on most other forums. Once again, Thank You. =)
