Announcing a Member of the Month Revival

BigBlueBall is proud to announce the revival of our Member of the Month (MotM) contest. Each month, you will have an opportunity to nominate and vote for the member who really stands out for their contribution to the forums. Maybe their insightful or expert answers impressed you, or their razor-sharp wit. Whatever the reason, YOU get to nominate your favorite, and the winner will be selected by YOU -- our members.

As an added incentive to participate in the process, one lucky member who participates in the nomination process will receive 50 reputation points as a way of saying "thank-you for your participation."

What is the Member of the Month?

This is an award given to one member who has stood out by their participation in the BigBlueBall forums. Their posts may be helpful, insightful or funny. Naturally, the MotM will be someone who has been active in the forums, but that doesn't mean that we are looking for quantity. We are looking more for posts that give provide good information, advice, help, or entertainment value.

What does the Member of the Month win?

The BigBlueBall Member of the Month wins the respect, admiration and adulation of all the forum members. We heap on the attention with an interview that finds out a little about who they are, what they like most about BigBlueBall and what makes them tick. The Member of the Month gets a 100-point reputation bonus (represented by the stars next to your name when you post), and their name will be immortalized on our upcoming MotM Hall of Fame page.

How does the process work?

First, look for this month's nomination topic. You can nominate one member each month, although you can second multiple nominations. The nomination topic will be open until the end of the month, when the staff will tally the results. The five members with the most nominations and seconds will be added to the poll for a vote by all members.

For example, nominations for the April MotM will be collected in March, and the voting will begin in April. The winner will be selected by popular vote as of the end of April and announced at the beginning of May.
