Up

Okay. So. Last week, I was sitting around the house with Diem and our pal calls us up and says hey, lets go to a movie.

We take a walk down to the dollar fifty theater and take a peek at what's playing. Our friends have raved about Up. Of course, they did warn us that the first fifteen minutes are "Slit-your-wrist depressing". So we sit down, brace ourselves and get to it.

Now, after watching this movie, I have to wonder...

What the heck is wrong with people? Honestly. I don't know if it was just my mood or if I was just overly sensitive but that has to be one of the most continuously depressing movies I have seen in a long time. It wasn't until the last twenty minutes that I didn't want to slit my wrist, and really, by that point, there was no saving this flick.

Thank goodness for talking dogs.

Anyone else seen this movie? Show me the light! What am I missing, here?

No, I probably can't help you.
But I might be able to make you laugh and forget that you just nuked 16 hours of photoshop work.

I haven't seen Up, though I heard it described as a love story of sorts. I'm such a sentimental guy, I better avoid it, lest I embarrass myself with blubbering.

I saw it when it came out with the kiddies... 3-D glasses on and all. Ummm - I gotta say, yeah - love story... had my kleenexes out at the beginning of this one. I thought it was okay, not great. A nice lil story, but nothing spectacular; some nice action; some cute characters; some cool scenery, but again, nothing to make you go, "Wow!" And I'm sorta over all the excitement of the animation as well. So, my opinion is meh. If you've nothing better to do, and a few dozen tissues, have a go. Just don't expect *fabulosity* from this flick.
