Yea maybe this is happening because we're only allowed to "Preview" msn 6 for a certain amount of time before the new one comes out. I mean how long did it work for you guys before it started freezing ? For me it was about 3 weeks I think.
Anyways, I just deleted MSN 6 and got MSN 5 back and it works fine now. I guess we'll just have to wait for the full version.

I was confused yes. But not anymore. You didn't read (understand?) my post very well.
I meant that MSN Messenger probably freezes because it loads several things, like your contact list, MSN today, e-mail addresses and such. Of course you can disable MSN Today. You could even 'disable' your contact list by deleting everyone on it. MSN Messenger will probably not freeze then. But that's not the point.
This is probably just a bug in the BETA, which will be, or maybe is already fixed, in the next release. Just hold your horses for the next release!

Suprgrl6969--are you sure you deleted MSN 6 fully ? Try going to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and see if MSN Messenger 6 is listed there.
And I know MSN 6 is already out but it's only a preview, so maybe msn has it set that you can only preview msn 6 for a certain amount of time before it starts freezing and stuff and you have to delete it and wait for the full version. Just a theory ?

Hmmm...then you downloaded MSN Messenger 6.0, did you see which version you downloaded...I mean...Did you take the right version for YOU'R windows...
If you have Windows XP you must take a Windows XP version, and if you have Windows ME you must download a version to ME...
This is true, although I use the Win2k version on XP. This may only be because they are built on the same platform.
There can also be some other problem.
Like...
Also don't forget about things like:
You have so many contacts that it takes longer to open.
You are low on RAM, and you don't have enough virtual Memory.
You have too many things start up when the computer boots up so the system is bogged down.
I now that all the good guys say that Windows Me is the best and so on, but it isn't, because. All version (windows 95, 98, 2000, Me, Nt, XP and so on) they have some good side and a bad side.
They all have a good and bad side, but WinMe is in NO WAY, the best OS.
I don't now 95 and 98 good and bad side, but i now that...
Windows 95: We were amazed to see this, it was so much better than Win3.x or MS-DOS6.x, although they say it's a bad OS, it is a decent OS and if you have the correct hardware, it will run well.
Windows 98/98SE: This is really just Windows 95 with bug fixes and a few minor upgrades, same with 98SE
Windows Me: The last of the 9x OS's, this is also the last to run on FAT32 File system (by default all NT OS's use NTFS (NT File System). Windows Me is unstable in my testing, and I have found it to be more problematic than any other OS.
NT: Is a network windows. I't have some more options in network configartion, than the other windows.
Windows NT aka Windows New Technology (Apples to WinNT3.51/4.0): Windows NT brought Microsoft into the NT line of OS's, Windows NT is not over MS-DOS as Win95/98/Me are, but it runs completely on itself. Windows NT is the future of Microsoft OS's, Win9x versions are done with for ever.
2000: Is not for games, must for programs.
Windows 2000 aka Windows NT 5.0: The next level in NT based OS's three versions were released, Win2k Professional, Win2k Server, and Win2k Advanced Server. All my games run perfectly on Win2k. IMO, this is the best Microsoft OS ever created.
XP Home Edition: I don't now.
Windows XP Home Edition aka Windows NT 5.1: Windows XP gave Windows a new look, with a more streamlined appearance. Basically Windows 2000 with a new look and several new features, like WinZIP built in and a new category system.
XP Prof.: I't a bit like windows NT, i't also have some more configurations in the network-part.
Windows XP Professional Edition: Same as WinXP Home Edition but with advanced User administration, Internet Information Services 5.1, better Network tools and more stability than Windows XP Home Edition.
Windows Server 2003 aka Windows NT 6.0: Although most don't know about this OS yet, it is the new Microsoft Server OS, with more built in features than ever, and Windows .NET support right out of the box.
