6969, start from scratch. .msi is the install/uninstall file. basically your pc expects it to be on a disk but it is not in your case and it cant find it on your pc either! =
follow this:
1. Exit msn messenger completely (by righ tkliking ht elil green man at the botom of the screen)
DO NOT REMOVE IT FROM ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS!
2. click Start, then Run, type "regedit" and click OK
3.Then go to (they look like small folders) :
MyComputer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MS NMessenger.
Click the 'MSNMessenger' key (Do not double click! just highlight it so it should turn blue)
then go to the Edit menu, and then click Delete.
Click "Yes" to confirm the operation.
4. Install your msn 6 file and sign in!
This has been doing the trick for a lot of people, specifically problems with msn 6 freezing! let me know how you get on!!
This should work if you want to just use msn 5 again aswell! Just install msn 5 rather than 6! But 6 is more fun!! = ]
let me know how you get on!!
(Uninstalling msn from the control panel would have meant that msn would not show up in the regedit section! This is why i said do not do uninstall, just exit)
