MSN Messenger Audio Conversation Problem

i have windows xp home edition.. i want to start an audio conversation but i cant. evrytime i start an audio conversation it says connecting to the other person's computer and then it says:

The network or computer you are trying to reach is experiencing a problem. Please try again later.

The audio conversation has ended.

I think this problem is related to the video game "enter the matrix" because when it is not on the computer audio conversation goes fine.

I need help URGENTLY PLZ.. I WANT TO HAVE A VOICE CONVERSATIONA AND PLAY THE GAME.

well just wanna ask how many o/p casn your sound card support.... If the sound card is old then it supports just 1 line, I mean only one s/w can play the audio... if other tries it wont be able to... also as u said

Are you running a firewall or do you have a router? If so, there is your problem. Have a look at this thread for the solution to your problem. This thread also talks about the internal Windows XP firewall. Be sure to have it disabled.

Good luck.

coolguyj2, you might want to re-read the post. They're having networking problems, not sound input/output problems.

I'm having a similar problem, and I have no idea how to fix it. The firewall is not enabled. The weird thing is, the video and voice chats work perfectly on MSN 5, but now on MSN 6, it doesn't work.

I have the same problem using v6.0
I am using a hub to connect (3Com Router) and have deactivated the firewall. But I can not start an audio conversaton.
One of the suggestions says to "open ports 6892 through 6900 for more simultaneous transfers" but I dont know how to do that. Can anyone help?
