Strange MSN 6.0 Problem

Hi, I'm new to the forums.

Anyway, I have a problem. I've currently been happy with Trillian Pro, but apparently MSN is stopping Trillian, so I decided to get MSN 6. I downloaded it, great. I started to install it, great. Then, the error. It's status was at "Publishing Assembly information", an error popped up that read the following.

"Could not open key:
UNKNOWN\Installer\Assemblies\Global. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."

I looked up the above file path, but nothing was found. Any help would be much appreciated, I dont know what the internet would be without MSN! Thanks

Well, it looks like perhaps you don't have administrative permissions on your computer?

You should also check out this Post - Microsoft blocking Trillian? No..., as you may be a bit misinformed.

Great, Trillian won't be blocked, whew.

I'm still curious about the error, I hate not knowing whats wrong with my computer, especially when it has to do with authorization. I have complete authority over my computer, the only other person to use it is my brother. We have seperate profiles (where it turns on and you log in), that could be what the problem is. But, how do I get rid of one of the profiles, I'm not sure, sadly.

Any suggestions?

i agree, maybe you dont have the right privalages, it sounds like the sort of message Windows XP would say when running from a limited account type!
