Webcam & MSN problem if multiple video devices

Hi everybody,

I have got multiple video devices, tuner TV and webcam.
There are all working well with there own software.
But with msn 6 I cannot configure webcam because when I go to the webcam settings, I get the settings of the tuner TV.
I assume that MSN is using my tuner instead of the webcam but I found no way to tell it to use the webcam.
Is there something to do, registry, ini file or something else to tell msn to use my webcam ?

Have you tried running the Audio/Video Tuning Wizard in the Tools menu? I believe that's where I selected the webcam to use in MSN Messenger 6 (I have two webcams)

I got the french version of msn, and the wisard in only audio.
Yes I can select my webcam but only for audio microphone.

If I go to the webcam setting (not the wizard), I get the tuner TV settings and I cannot select my webcam as I said previously

I just checked my Messenger 6.0 and it has Audio/Video Tuning Wizard in the Tools menu. On the first "page" of that wizard it allows you to choose which camera to use.
I remember that at work it didn't say Audio/Video Tuning Wizard but Audio Tuning Wizard but I think that was when I didn't have my webcam hooked up.

Are you sure the webcam is hooked up and installed properly? Can you get it working in other programs, such as Yahoo! Messenger?

Im having the same problem. Do you have a mustek camera, I assumed it was because mine was a mustek and that the drivers were not compatible. I also only have my tuner card option.

I haven't been able to find a list of MSN Messenger compatible webcams, but here's the list for Yahoo! Messenger: http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mesg/w...ebcams-10.html
There's also a link for Yahoo's webcam compatibility test at the bottom of that page, so if your cam isn't in the list (Mustek isn't), you might want to give that a try.

My webcam is fully compatible with yahoo messenger but it does not work either (philips 690K in the yahoo list).
I assume, that both softs (msn and yahoo) look for video device assuming that there are webcam. I am pretty sure that if I remove my tuner it will work fine.
BUt that's cool I can send tv to my friends with my voice.
It products a amazing reaction.

I'm afraid I can't give any more help other than suggesting writing to MSN Messenger's support by using the form on this page
Hopefully they'll be able to give a final answer on why your cams won't work, as well as a solution to the problem.

Good luck
