Who added who

Ok I signed onto MSN Messenger the other day, and got a popup that someone new had added me to their contact list, did I want them to be able to see me online, etc etc yada yada yada. I had no idea who this was, didnt recognize the email address or anything. I figured what the heck, I'll add them, find out who this is.

Being curious who this would be, I used my hotmail email (which I never use for personal email) to email this person asking who they were, how they knew me. He sent back an email saying that he had gotten the notice that I had added him, so he had added me to HIS list.

So somewhere someone's confused (and I KNOW I didnt add him first, since I'd never seen the address before and the name wasn't familiar). Anyone have any idea what's goin on?

This is very common. Before you send E-mail to someone, be sure to uncheck the one that says (add to contact list).

what?? that makes no sense. i said i got a notice from MSN Messenger that said he'd added me to his list, so i said ok fine i'll add him. but out of curiosity i asked him who he was, and he said he'd gotten the same notice i had. meaning someone's confused. i didnt send him an email until after he'd added me, so... like i said i dont use my hotmail account for anything except having messenger.

Hey there!!! it's happened to me a couple of times!! I signed in once and this guy had added me, so i accepted and then sent an IM asking who he was, he said that it had came on his computer that I had added him and that infact he wanted to know who i was!! Of course, i actually took a tizzy thinking he was someone winding me up, because i didnt think this could actually happen, so say, he never added me and i definatly never added me, then how did we both end up on each others lists? MSN's gone nuts!

i went to alot of boards trying to figure out what teh heck is goin on with ya'lls messengers. and low and behold i found it. there was an article i read about a error in the msn messenger that was causing it to randomly add someone to your list. the error only accurs every once in a while. (i don't really know how that is). i'm not sure if its like a constantly happening error. maybe teh error keeps happening and every once in a blue moon it errors your hotmail account and match you with another person. anyhow thats waht i read. its the closest thing i could find

I really don't know o.O
