The actual error when voice chat initiated is it tries to connect to the other computer, but never does and errors out with conversation has ended.
I have read a lot of discussions, but still can't find the right fix. Here are the facts:
-MSN 6.0.0602
-WinXP pro
-video & file transfer work
-router bypassed
-Norton internet security uninstalled
-same problem with win messenger and msn messenger
-windows updates done
-used to work, but stopped working on a previous version, doesnt matter what version, still same problem
-new mic/sound/video/nic card installed
-OS reloaded (same problem!)
-rtcdll.dll ver 5.1.2600.1106 (is this the wrong one?)
-Windows internal speech/mic/speaker tests work fine
I have heard talk of Upnp settings in windows xp rather than in the router. Is there such a thing, and is it worth looking into?
