Hi,
When someone sends me a file over msn messenger it keeps screwing up on the 1st or 2nd attempt.
When there are 0kb left to receive messenger indicates the file transfer has failed with the ‘you failed to receive mymum.jpg from yourgirlfriend’
But then displays the ‘you have received ‘c:\docusettings\user\files\mymum.jpg’’ link click to open/view thingy
Even though it says it’s failed, and there is no sign of mymum.jpg in my received folder.
But, after my very cooperative and understanding contact willingly sends mymum.jpg to me again, usually by the 2nd or 3rd attempt I actually can ‘see’ the file and open it via the ‘you have receive the file’ link in the IM window, even though sometimes it still says its failed.
And… sometimes it works perfectly
I’m on 56k dial up… (UUGGHH ITS HELL!
) and most of my contacts are chucking there files at me from there broadband connections… could that do it?... somehow?
Zone Alarm Pro firewall settings?
Norton antivirus 2k4 pro?
XP Pro?
Any help/ideas/comments would be much appreciated
