Proxy configuration problem
Well, hi everyone. I use Windows XP Pro, and have to connect through a http proxy ('tis how my dad controls our internet use ;P).
The problem is with msn messenger 6.0. On the connections tab I select 'http proxy' then I put in my username, password, proxy server number (xxx.xxx.x.xx) and port number (8080). When I try to sign in I get this message: "Sorry, we were unable to sign you in to the .NET Messenger Service at this time. Please try again later." This worked before, yet it doesn't anymore. The only thing I can think of is that it's something to with the workings of the proxy server but my dad hasn't had much time to look at that, tried something but it didn't work so I'm a bit stuck. Unless of course the text field entitled 'Realm' has any significance although I never used it before. Thanx for any help you can give. |
