Um, you mean MSN Messenger?
There is no "official" version of MSN Messenger from Microsoft for *nix operating systems, but you can use AMSN Messenger.
It is in changing we find purpose

Have a look at GAIM.
- Gaim is a multi-protocol instant messaging client for Linux, BSD, MacOS X, and Windows. It is compatible with AIM (Oscar and TOC protocols), ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, and Zephyr networks.
Gaim users can log in to multiple accounts on multiple IM networks simultaneously. This means that you can be chatting with friends on AOL Instant Messenger, talking to a friend on Yahoo Messenger, and sitting in an IRC channel all at the same time.
Gaim supports many features of the various networks, such as file transfer (coming soon), away messages, typing notification, and MSN window closing notification. It also goes beyond that and provides many unique features. A few popular features are Buddy Pounces, which give the ability to notify you, send a message, play a sound, or run a program when a specific buddy goes away, signs online, or returns from idle; and plugins, consisting of text replacement, a buddy ticker, extended message notification, iconify on away, and more.
Gaim runs on a number of platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Qtopia (Sharp Zaurus and iPaq).
Gaim integrates well with GNOME 2 and KDE 3.1's system tray, as well as Windows's own system tray. This allows you to work with gaim without requiring the buddy list window to be up at all times.
Gaim is under constant development, and releases are usually frequent. The latest news regarding Gaim can be found on the news page.

Have you looked at AMSN? Does it meet your requests?

yes but i read the directions FAQ how to install amsn and i went to http://tcl.sourceforge.net/ and it tells me to download a tcl/tk interpreter but i dont see it
i did install the 0.83 and it has a bunch of files.
also i seen this
Download amsn-0_xx.tar.gz
$ tar xvzf amsn-0_xx.tar.gz
$ cd msn
$ ./amsn
or
$ wish amsn
If command wish is not found, you need to install tcl/tk packages (tcl & tk).

If you have RedHat, simply run rhn_register and register your machine with the RedHat network. You can then do up2date <package>, or in your case up2date tcl.
If RedHat Network tells you the package isn't available, you can find it on RPMFind.net. RedHat has a great package manager (RPM). I suggest you use it.

I like kmess http://kmess.sourceforge.net/ or http://kopete.kde.org/ There is like over 5 different MSN messengers for linux. What distro do you have? I would just get the rpm for your distro. amsn is probably already on one of them cd's.
