remote assistance

I had 6.1 but needed some remote assistance so I (apparently) had to get 4.7
then deleted 4.7 now I cant use remote assistance?
Is there a way of using remote assistance without getting 4.7 again???

It seems you must have windows messenger enabled to use remote assistance and help and support.

my m8 says he has not got 4.7 but he can use remote assistance!
If I get 4.7 is there a way to stop it auto running in the background coz it shows me as online even tho I have not logged on???
