I cant sign in....

Okay,
I connect to the internet, open up my msn messenger window, type in my password and everything, hoping to talk to friends, and I click OK and it won't sign me in. A window thing pops up and says: We were unable to sign you in to .NET Messenger Service, possibly because of a problem with the service or your Internet connection. Please make sure that you are connected to the Internet. I Am Connected To The Internet But It Wont Sign Me In!!! What do I do? Please help me if you can! I would greatly appreciate it! Thanx A Lot!

You can check through the MSN forum as there are several topics about this issue already.

But the thing that it getting me interested is that about an hour ago (9:30PM EST) I had 32 people online, and within 2 minutes it dropped to six. MAYBE there is a problem with the service right now. In that case, and in most cases with this, give it some time and it should allow you to sign back in again.

Jo. I too have had endless trouble with MSN Messenger - so much so that I gave up after repeated attempts to get voice and then also to get it so that I did not have to sign in every time. I downloaded several times, wrote (Weeks waiting for reply and then not satisfactory. Changed Versions, all to no avail) So after a lot of looking around, was advised to look at Yahoo, and so ....The result was
I CHANGED to Yahoo Messenger -
Now I have No Hassles - Clear voice transmission and an excellent messenger service, with no hickups at all -

Thank you for responding....I talked to my friends this morning and the four that have msn said that they were all having trouble with it too and they couldnt sing in....my brother and his girlfriend had trouble too....we all thought that maybe it was the service. It is letting me sign in now so I guess I wont be talking to you again untill I need help..lol....well thanks for your help...See Ya!
