IMs not sent without warning from time to time

Hi, since I installed my CPU, I had to put a firewall up, cause Blaster was crawlin' up my ass like hell...
The problem is, msn soemtimes doesn't send my messages in a conversation, so the discussion gets weird... I even sometimes don't receive messages from other people. That would be ok if only I was warned !! The messages just don't get sent, at some time in the conversation, then the next gets sent. sometimes.
I put my firewall protection to "medium" (it was High, I had to get paranoid with Blaster, it wouldn't let me survive 1 minute) My Hard drive had to get formatted like 10 times in a row. at the time. ( 2 months ago)
But still, it doesn't work at medium ! same problems ! My Cable provider says it's software, they checked the line.

Help ! I'm on my last nerve.

If you installed the hotfix to patch the blaster virus, you wouldn’t need to rely on your firewall. Run a Windows Update.

As for your messages getting through, is it possible there is just a delay? Is your firewall hardware, or software? I sudjest to run Windows Update, and also lesson your firewall protection level.
