0x81000301 <------- this is annoying me lots

For 1 month now I have been victim to the dreaded '0x81000301' message that I get when I try to sign in on MSN messenger 6.1. I have drained the web (and bigblueball) on all information that I can get hold of and nothing has worked - does anyone know something that actually does? PLEASE help

It's not annoying when the answer is here!

Our search feature is really cool.

I had this problem today when I upgrade to 6.1.0211 from another 6.1 version. The problem was zonealarm even though it was closed and has not been used for a while. The internet traffic still goes through it's TrueVector service. Open zonealarm and allow messenger internet access or uninstall zonealarm.

Hope this solves the problem for a few people at least,

Martayus

i had the same problem...uninstall 6.1 and then go to www.oldversion.com and download 6.0, this solved the problem for me, but I still don't have the features of 6.1...it's better than nothing though
