How to remove sign-in history?

Hey all,

I have MSN Messenger 6.1 in my Windows XP and well I don't know if anybody else gets a sign in screen that pops out and then you can type your email and password and after you sign out it keeps your email stored so each time you enter an email to sign in, it is stored. How do I delete them? My friend was over and signed on with three names and now they're stuck there! Worst of all he had one on automatic sign in and even though I can sign on to mine, his email appears above saying click here if you want to sign in using so and so and under that is click here to sign in as another person.

Anyway to make things clearer:
1) How do I delete names I don't use from the sign in window
2) How do I get rid of a name that is set to login automatically when you click on it?

It's driving me crazy! Please any help would be greatly appreciated. I even had to submit an MS form cuz I forgot my password. This isn't my day!

Thanks for the sarcasm and thanks to the person that actually helped. You can delete this topic now if you wish. Problem solved.

Nono, we're not laughing WITH you, we're laughing AT you.

Directly quoted from the FAQ you were just linked to but clearly didn't read:
Quote:
quote:Q: A few people have signed into MSN Messenger from my computer. How do I remove their email addresses from the sign-in list?
A: Go to 'Control Panel' and choose for 'Users'. Click on your Windows XP username and then go to 'Manage my network passwords'. Here you can simply delete the MSN login history.

Umm the reason I said Problem Solved was because I read the link I was given by fiebs. Everybody else posted after him.

So quick to jump to conclusions.

Excuse me sir, but next time you want an answer, use the damn search system, or at least read the FAQ. It's not posted there to look good, but save us from multiple threads about the same thing, and to help you find your answers faster. If members cannot read the FAQ, how are we to know they are not 'smart' enough to grasp to look on the link provided? (And I am not specifically directing this at you, because 3b has had a hell of a lot of people ask questions and ignore the help given.) And 912, when the proper help is given don't reply with other possible solutions. A moderator made sure the proper solution was correct, and added it to the faq. Save us from a headache, and pay a small bit more attention.

MiamiGuy, It appears as though you've misunderstood the responses posted after your answer. None of them were directed at you, but instead were pointed towards 912's ignorance of the answer. I too misunderstood Detn8r's part in this topic, but after exchanging emails, he has explained he was only refering to 912, not you.

I'm going to mark this topic down as a miscommunication/misunderstanding. I'm sure no intentional harm was intended. A lesson to be learned - make sure your responses are clear and understandable. If you are directing a response to someone besides the Topic starter, you should point it out.

As for 912, I'm sure he will read first before asking the same question again. Detn8r's points are legitimate. Use the search page, and read the FAQ's before posting. Its just common sense.

Topic answered and closed.
