Sound in MSNM when I don't want it

I have the latest versions of MSNM and MSN Plus. I have sounds set to disabled on my account in Plus. But when my friends sign off, I get the AIM sound of the slamming door. How can I get this if the sounds are disabled?

Unless you changed the sounds manually, MSN, or Messenger Plus! doesn't use AIM's sounds as default (as it would be copyright infringement).
What Messenger Plus! does use, is a toast to notify you when someone signs out. If it does play a sound, it usually the default one that MSN uses for notifications (like news alerts).

So - unless you have another addon, or actually have AIM or another third party IM client that uses AIM's sound, there is nothing that can be done to MSN Messenger, as I do not think it's the application causing the sounds.

Uh huh... but what did deleting a wav file have to do with Messenger alerting you when you have a contact sign out?
