Speed up file sharing?

I have been looking for ever to find a patch, crack, hack etc. to enable my MSN messenger to upload and download faster than it does. The older version messengers used to download way quicker. The new ones kind of suck in the file sharing department. Please if anyone has any information please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Good morning. Have we read the manual?

When you transfer a file to someone MSN normally shows this notification: "If you are having a slow transfer speed, click here to find out why.". Now, did you click this? ... you didn't?

Well, you can also get to that help subject by going to 'Help' and then 'Contents' from the MSN Messenger menu. 'About connecting from behind a firewall' is the help subject you're looking for.

Yeah, I read that and even turned off firewalls etc. on both computers and it still runs slow at poop! Let me know if anyone finds out anything.

Thanks again,

both computers were on 3.5 mps cable modem. It is not just the connection or just me. I got a lot of people I talk to and they all notice it too. Wheather they send files to other people etc. Does anyone else not notice a difference between the new 6.0 etc and the older 4.3 etc . As far as upload/download time. The old ones used to average about 30-50 kbs the new ones, you are lucky to get 10
