Logitech Quickcam Zoom and MSN Messenger

At present, my web camera picture in *Yahoo IM* is perfect; if I open it in MSN Messenger it's horrendous (a bit like a photographic negative).

Does this problem report ring any bells with anybody here? I use a Logitech Quickcam Zoom webcam and, until today, it had seemed pretty good to me. Can't help feeling that the problem lies in my MSN set-up, rather than in the camera itself. I've tried messing around with the brightness controls, etc. but no joy at all. As I say, if I use Yahoo IM, the picture is perfect.

What also strikes me as odd is that this camera is specifically marketed as "ideal for MSN Messenger", so I'd love to know if anybody out there has *successfully* used the Logitech Quickcam Zoom with MSN.

Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks
Mike

Do you have a grey (titanium) Quickcam Zoom or the Blue one? I had the blue one until about a month ago (it broke), and the picture quality was great with all software. The new model I got from warrenty is the Titanium model, and the picture quality is not nearly as good. It seems to get worse as the level of light decreases, ie. from getting worse from day to night. Logitech must have changed something about the camera, because I have compared the Blue's pictures to the new Titanium's pictures, and the Blue's are much better. I can't help you with the software, but thats my take on the situation.
