Web cam works for WinMessenger but not MSNMessengr

Used to only use Windows Messenger. Started using the web cam with my Logitec 4000 cam. Worked good. No problems.

About a month ago, I installed MSN Messenger for the first time. Worked great. No problems. Used the web cam, worked ok (slower response than Windows Messenger), but worked.

I would say that around the time of the recient XP update for DirectX, for somereason, I couldn't get my web cam to work with my friend. Says to check if it's installed, blah blah. Checked the settings, all fine. We both got MSN Messenger 6.2.

Tried with Windows Messenger, web cam works. Connects like it did before, and works like it did before when I was using it. Also made me realize how slow MSN Messenger web cam really was, but that's besides the point.

Tried connecting MSN Messenger again. Nada web cam.

Anybody seen this before?

Thanks,

When she selects web cam on her side, it says that my Messenger edition doesn't support that function. ?!??

She's got 6.2.
I've got 6.2.

We've also both tried opening up our firewalls too, but no help. She can see my web cam, but she can't start hers for me...

Just fixed while I was on her computer with Remote Assistance...

Somehow, my name got deleted from her listing of IM friends..

Becaue of this, she couldn't start a video session with me, although I had her listed and could start one with her.
