So the latest version is 6.2.0137, right?

I had been using Windows X MSN Messenger for a while, and decided it was time for me to update.

This topic makes no sense. Not only is the author completly behind in history, but doesn't know how to source his findings, or even link-to the information that he is talking about. "For details on the issue, please click here." Click where?

The newest version of MSN Messenger is 6.2.0137. This release was not a forced upgrade. And the point of this release is old news, which can be found here.

Detn8r, I took that from the Microsoft website, a simple copy and paste, ok, it was misleading, but that is why there was no link on the "click here" text. Sorry about that. As for being completely behind in history, I got a message about there being a new version of MSN Messenger merely 4 hours ago when I signed in, so I am not completely behind at all. In fact, the only part of my original post which was from myself, was the first sentence, the rest was quoted from Microsoft.

I was merely going from the pop up message which I got when signing into Messenger, you know, the toast windows. I also never said it was a forced upgrade.

It's clear to me.

Whether or not YOU just found out this information, it was posted before (thus, YOU ARE behind in history as you were previously notified in the thread above).
For a side note: if the information is misleading, correct it. Why confuse other people?

It is not me who is behind in history, I received notification of the update on the same day that I started the thread. Therefore, I was notified late, that is hardly my fault is it? You tell me not to confuse other people, however, I don't see any other posts here stating that they were confused by the information, aside from yourself. You firstly said that the topic makes no sense, then you went on to say, and I quote, that "its clear" to you.
Also, the information made sense to me, however, I did realise it was misleading after it was pointed out to me by yourself. I apologise for that.

Now, lets not argue like little boys eh?

Thanks for the info. martin....i'm going to update messenger...i'm one of the people that didn't know...

...As for you Detn8r, I don't see a moderator status next to your name or are you under the false illusion of having power because you've posted more? You're only causing more confusion through your petty arguments you start whereas if you have something to say, why not use a messenger for it. It would give us all break from hearing you pick up on any mistake a new member makes! *yawn*

Phil
