KaZaA sues recording industry

KaZaA has sued the recording industry for violating anti-trust laws by trying to shut down P2P. KaZaA has also sued the recording industry for breaking copyright law (LOL that's great)...Sharman says that by the RIAA using their software to sue users, the RIAA is breaking copyright law. Any thoughts?

Kazaa is also suing the RIAA for using unauthorized versions of there software, such as Kazaa Lite. How ironic.

LOL...this is going to get very interesting. I am glad that Kazaa has done this, it is about time. The P2P providers should have been in on this a long time ago. They should set up terms of use for their networks that say if you connect, you may not sue or provide names or IPs to organizations with intent to sue users. That would stop the RIAA from unleashing its evil wrath!!!

So Sharman NOW wants to protect copyright?
You want I should take this serious?
I guess it has a one hour life before a judge. This is a truly pathetic attempt by Sharman to stall the RIAA.

I'm pretty sure the reason the RIAA can't sue Sharman is they aren't doing anything illegal. They simply provide a network for users to connect to. If the users decide to share illegal files, then that's their problem, not Kazaa's.
What Kazaa is hoping for is a bandwagon approach, where all the other files-sharing programs authors file similar suit, tying up the RIAA for a lengthy period of time. Kazaa has every right to go after the RIAA for using an unlicensed version of their software for commercial use.

Also, the RIAA saying that someone ELSE is using copyright law to be "self-serving" is utterly hilarious.

P.S. .. The RIAA has already sued Sharman, this is about Sharmans counter suit.

Actually....

The RIAA has gone after USERS of Kazaa, but has not suceeded in suing Sharman itself.
