The mentality of Kazaa lite k++, itself ripped off from Sharman's Kazaa, begs the question 'who is being ripped off?'.
The RIAA? certainly theres no question,
the recording artist? again certainly,
but now the sharer is being ripped off.
You are encouraged to download but not to share, which makes you the rip-off merchant against the file sharer.
Naturally if you share, not only do you stand the risk of prosecution via the RIAA you can also feel comforted with the thought you are being ripped off by tens of thousands of your peers.
Kinda makes an old file sharer feel cold n used.
How to respond? well you can continue not to share and become part of the destruction of MP3 file share which is eminent.. or share just 10 songs cos the RIAA is after bigger fish.
The use of encryption is not mainstream and certainly in the minority, the amount of encrypted files is less than 3% of all files available, being 1337 n using encryption is at this stage just a wank.
Closed file share apps such as Waste are commendable but not immune to penetration by the RIAA, dont be fooled.
I share, do you?
