    Best Sound Quality Music Player?

I am wondering, what has been found to be the best music player in terms of sound quality and richness? Does anyone know if the players integrated with programs such as Napster or Itunes are any good? I have found that when switching around between players some of my music is flat and am not sure which one to choose. I don't really care about interface or ease of use.

Have you tried Apollo? I just posted about it a few days ago, and it has great sound quality and richness. It's good enough that its my current default player. Check out the responses to it here. It also has my thoughts on iTunes player, I'm sure Napster won't be as good, but I have yet to try it.

The biggest negative for Apollo is the fact that it loads the playlist into memory. Not great for large playlists, but I did link to a plug-in that helps with that.

Try Foobar2000. The sound quality is really good. It doesn't take up a lot of memory and has a simple interface. Check it out http://www.foobar2000.com/

Music players contribute nothing to sound quality, sound quality is provided by the sound card or sound chip on the motherboard. There are however feature rich 'music players' that take advantage of the sound cards features or capacity.

Somebody is not doing their homework, why do I want a player that cant 'play' at the correct speed? Gimme a break, surely a degree in software engineering is not required to run sound software.

That is true, although audio decoders used by your media player can affect your perceived quality.

Obviously that was some sort of April Fools prank. Note the date of the news post.
