I use those IMACHOAS things link spies because I know people spy and I block the people I don't know also I had my cell phone in my profile on AIM once they kept calling me. Should I keep my photobucket account locked so that people can't go there and see pictures of me and my family? And like turn your webcams turned around when not using.

Excellent post, thank you. I actually have a cyber stalker that threatened to kill me and lives 15 mins from my USA location. It's horrible to live in the shadows. But after 8 years of it, I've just grown use to how much info I share with anyone.

Webcams

If YOU have a webcam installed on YOUR computer and if its unsecure it can be accessed by ANYONE, ANYWHERE!

In fact an unsecure webcam does not even need a trojan horse on your computer to exploit it. Even moreso here is the scary part - knowing what keywords to type into Google.com can produce results of thousands of unsecure webcams all across the world. Some of these webcams are public and meant to be viewed by anyone while others are private but unsecure. A stalker with access can move the cam around at their leasure, change resolution, brightness and darkness, and take screenshots - Pretty much anything the owner of the camera can do a person online can do!

Q: So what can one do to protect their webcam?
A1: Turn it off and cover the lens when not in use! (Webcam basics 101!)
A2: I will try to find links and resources on how to secure a webcam that is on if I can or if you know please post - I have never owned a webcam so a solution I can provide would not be the best source.

Would watching the Number viewing our cam enough to know if there is anyone watching or not???

When we dont use the cam or mic , it's always safe because they are in most cases not connected to line. But how abt when we are using it with our friends???
If anyone has any information please share with us?

Thanks so much for your valuable information you have shared with us.

I have small inquiry though. When I am on cam I usually keep an eye on the number of viewers and it's usually one person who i talk with. Is that enough to be secured while we are on line.
Other wise I always log off and disconnect from internet when I don't use it.
It would be so helpful if anyone helped me correcting my thoughts!

For over a year now I keep getting messages from someone containing blatant sexual harrassment on Yahoo Messenger. I have blocked this person several times and I have changed my Yahoo ID several times and I'm still receiving these messages. I have told them to stop attempting to communicate with me.

I reported them to wiredpatrol.org and to Yahoo but Yahoo always sends me an auto-reply message that only says in so many words: Just use your ignore button. So this time, I sent them a reply right back stating: I have already said that I ignored this person several times and I have also changed my ID several times since the harrassment began. I would appreciate some real help please.

Is it time to call the police?

I received another instant message from the same person using a different ID this morning, even after I changed my ID on Yahoo.
