This is for both the Windows and Linux versions of the IM Client GAIM, first of all I have been using it for a bit in Linux, but until recently I was using Trillian until my ICQ UIN was stolen and someone mentioned that there where security flaws in Trill that may have given my UIN password away. That being said and me hardly using ICQ anyways I switched to the Windows version of GAIM which I like a lot. Having GAIM here at work on this Windows box is good it allows me to use my jabber account here as well.
Now for the weird part--- I created a chat room in the jabber.org server for a temp basis so when me and some friends are online we can keep to one window and one chat called it geospart (my online persona) so they could find and join it. Well Unlike IRC I thought that there was no way to get a list of chat room names in jabber, but today someone joined my chat from the outside (no problem the more the merrier) but then he left soon afterwards, thus leaving us perplexed to how he found the room. I tried the generic /list but no go and there seems to be no way to search groups in any jabber client I have used. Can any verify if there is a way to get a list of rooms... there appears to be but I am clueless to how...????? (confused and dazed).. thanks in advance.
